blog

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 15: The Basundhara-Man Foundation of Baluwatar has subscribed Gorkhapatra Corporation’s publications for 100 years.

The Foundation is the first to subscribe to the state-owned Corporation’s publications for a century. Earlier, Gorkhapatra had seen entities subscribe to its newspapers and magazines for a maximum of 10 years in advance.

The Foundation paid for the full subscription on Friday. A century-long subscription would have cost it Rs. 365,000 but it received 40 per cent discount and only had to pay Rs. 219,000.

The subscribing organisation will begin receiving the publications from Saturday and will receive them until its subscription expires on July 14, 2123.

Badri Prasad Dhakal, the Foundation’s consultant, shared that they entered into such a long subscription because they trust Gorkhapatra’s publications. The Foundation is established by Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi, Nepal’s ambassador to Japan, in memory of his parents.

Speaking on the occasion, Executive Chairman of Gorkhapatra Corporation Bishnu Prasad Subedi said the decision of the Foundation inspired them to be more credible and responsible.

“This century subscription reflects deep trust of readers on the publications of the corporation,” he added.
