Police, Help Nepal continue winning run

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 12: Nepal Police Club and Tiptop Help Nepal continued with their winning spree in the 7th PM Cup NVA National Volleyball Club League on Tuesday. 

Police outclassed Dawanli Milan Club 25-21, 25-19 and 25-17 for their third win in the men’s league. The Police piled eight points on the table. Police shared points with Gandaki Province. 

Likewise, Help Nepal rallied past Gandaki in a straight three set 25-22, 25-17, 28-26 for the third win in a row. Help Nepal has now nine points on the table. 

With four consecutive defeats, Gandaki is almost out of the title contention. Gandaki has one point on the table. Gandaki suffered losses in their previous three matches against Police, APF Club and Army. 

Army is on the top of the table with nine points. Help Nepal and APF Club trail on the second and third position respectively with equal nine points. APF prevailed over Sailung Bagdhunga 3-0 to keep the final hopes alive. 

APF, however, had to fight hard against Sailung to register a 26-24, 25-15 and 28-26 victory in the men’s last match on Tuesday. 

Police are on the fourth position while Dawanli and Sailung are winless in the men’s league. 

In the women’s section, APF eased past Everest Volleyball Club 25-9, 25-12, 25-11 to collect eight points from three matches. 

New Diamond fought hard to beat Army 3-2 in a thrilling five-setter match. New Diamond took the first two sets 25-15, 25-21 and gave away the third and fourth sets to Army by 19-25 and 22-25. New Diamond, however, took the fifth set easily by 15-9 to earn two points. Despite the loss, Army collected one point. Army has two points on the table.
