By Siraj Khan,Nepalgunj, July 9: Narayan Kurmi, a resident of Holiya, Banke, and his wife Sipuri Kurmi have requested authorities and the public to help them find their missing daughter.

According to the Kurmi couple, their 19-year-old daughter Reshma Kurmi has been missing since April 15, 2023. The couple made the plea while meeting with some journalists in Nepalgunj.

“Reshma got married three years ago to a boy from Gangapur in Ward No. 13 of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City. However, since the death of her husband, she had been living with us,” said Sipuri, the mother.

“Our daughter was lured by Kotiya, Arati, Pawan and Dinesh Kurmi, all our relatives, and was taken to India. She has been abducted and kept in the house of Indrajit Kurmi at Ajakawa Village in the Bahraich district of India,” the mother added.

“We have heard that they made Reshma marry someone forcefully. We do not even know if she has been trafficked. Thinking of what has happened to her is painful. We request the authorities to find her,” said Narayan.

The couple has also accused Duduwa’s Vijay Yadav of helping the four to take Reshma to India. However, Yadav denied the accusations.

Meanwhile, the couple also informed that the police did not listen and help them despite requesting the local police to search for her.

Several organisations working for human rights in Banke have also demanded the authorities search for Reshma.
