By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 9: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has urged to make health care services much more effective.
The Ministry sent a letter to all federal, provincial, and local level hospitals on Friday asking them to make health care services more effective.
The Ministry has directed the hospitals of all three levels to mobilize specialist doctors and health workers around the clock to provide effective treatment services, saying that disaster incidents may occur in different parts of the country due to rising temperatures.
It is mentioned in the letter that the federal and provincial hospitals to keep the necessary treatment arrangements (medicines, health equipment, treatment with air conditioner) in order to be able to provide treatment services to the patients immediately in case heat-induced incidents and destruction such as snake bite, fire breakout, diarrhea, high fever, cholera may break out in different parts of the country.
Likewise, Health Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet, during on-site visitation, said that there is a lack of clean drinking water, cleanliness, and sanitation, and maintained temperature in the hospitals, therefore, has asked hospitals to maintain the temperature in hospitals for patients with major surgery as wounds are likely to get worse in scorching heat and to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in hospitals.
