Janakpur, May 22: Lumbini World Peace Forum, celebrated World Biodiversity Day with the aim of enhancing biodiversity and environmental conservation in Janakpur, Dhanusha District.
Its press release of May 22 stated that celebrating the event it has carried initiatives that encompassed tree planting, installation of tree guards, and cleaning activities along the Dudhmati River. The event garnered the participation of esteemed guests, including the secretary of Forest and Environment of Madhesh Province Jagdish Prasad Jaisawal as well as local youths and eco-activists.
In addition, tree guards were installed to ensure the protection and proper growth of the newly planted saplings besides cleaning Dudhmati River.
“The event received an overwhelming response from the local community, with enthusiastic participation from youths, activities, and employees from various banks. The event is part of Lumbini World Peace Forum’s “1 Million Trees Plantation Drive” campaign”, according to the press release.
