By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 14: School textbooks have reached the
Himalayan district of Humla, days before the start of the academic year.
Students would wait for months after
the start of the academic year to get the books in the past. But this year, the
students are elated that their complaints have been addressed.
Sarkegad, Chankheli Tajkot and
Adanchuli rural municipalities located in the southern part of the district got
the textbooks some three days ago, according to Lokenra Bhandari who was
entrusted with responsibility to deliver the books there.
Mandev Shahi, another delivery person, however,
lamented that he has yet to get the amount for transportation of the textbooks
as he used vehicles to deliver books from Nepalgunj to the municipalities.
He said although the local levels were yet to
reimburse the payment, he took loan from banks to purchase and deliver the
books in time.
The local levels has to deposit the amount to the
account of the concerned dealer for the schools to get the books.
Out of seven local levels in the district, textbooks
have reached in four and transportation of books to remaining three is starting
