Army win hockey title

 By Our Correspondent,Biratnagar, Apr. 12: Tribhuvan Army Club defended the title of Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial 4th National Men's Hockey Championship in Biratnagar on Tuesday.

Army defeated Nepal Police 1-0 in the final held last night at the Martyrs' Stadium of Biratnagar. Kashi Raj Rai scored the match-winner in the 41st minute.

With the victory, TAC bagged Rs. 75,000 and a trophy, and Nepal Police Rs. 41,000 and a trophy. The Sudurpaschim Province won Rs. 25,000 for the third position. 

Police Club’s Haridatta Pandey was declared the Best goalie while Mahesh Nepali of Sudur Paschim Province bagged Emerging Player of the tournament and Roman Rana of Army became the highest goal scorer of the tournament.

, Policemen Yogesh Bharghare was declared the best defender and Nitish Neupane of the Army was declared the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

The tournament that kicked off on April 5 was participated by two departmental teams and Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
