By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 11: Senior journalist Govinda Acharya has been appointed the press advisor to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held Tuesday appointed Acharya to the post, communication expert at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Narendra KC informed.
Active in journalism since for nearly 30 years since 2050 BS, Acharya served as the Chairman of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) and Chairman of Minimum Wages Fixation Committee.
In the past, Acharya was the Editor of the then Janadesh Weekly and Editor-in-Chief of Janadish National Daily.
Likewise, Acharya is the founding member of the Press Centre Nepal.
Born in Mandabi Rural Municipality of Pyuthan, Acharya was the coordinator of Revolutionary Journalists Association.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law.
