Kathmandu, March 12: Over dozen of container freight stations (dry port) going to be constructed to facilitate foreign trade.
Executive director of Nepal Intermodal Transportation Development (NITDB), Ashish Gajurel informed that a dozens of dry ports are going to be constructed to facilitate foreign trade.
He informed that dry port will be constructed in five different points on Chinese borders and one point on the Indian border.
He informed that detail project report (DPR) of Korola (Mustang) dry port are being prepared.
According to him pre-feasibility study for dry port in Olangchungola (Taplejunj), Yari (Humla), Jaleshor of Mahottari, is prepared.
Meanwhile, selection process of companies for the pre-feasibility study of port in Tinje Dho (Dolpa) and Kimathanka (Sankhuwasabha) have been in the final stage.
Three ports under construction
According to the (NITDB), three dry ports under construction.
Gajurel further added that ports have been under construction in Nepalgunj (Banke), and Timure (Rasuwa). Nepal and India have agreed to construct port in Dodhara Chadani (Kanchanpur).
