Pokhara, Feb 21 : Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Khagaraj Adhikari has said that his only goal was to increase the strength of the province government.
Addressing a programme organised
here by Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday, the Chief Minister
said he has urged the Prime Minister to formulate the laws on the issues of
concurrent powers to make the province robust.
He added that the province
government will be equal to the then district development committee and the
existing district coordination committee if the province were not given
powers.
Adhikari added that there are still
issues in the adjustment of the civil servants.
Likewise, he promised to make the
province prosperous by developing mega projects and expediting capital
expenditure in partnership with the private sector.
Adhikari claimed that he was one of
the few persons to voice against the Kaligandaki diversion and advocate for
making the province government powerful.
He reiterated his voice against the
proposed Kaligandaki diversion.
Former President of Federation of
Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ananda Raj Mulmi also expressed his views
on the programme organized to facilitate Chief Minister Adhikari.
During the event, leaders of
Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry including others shared their views on
the development of Gandaki Province through physical infrastructure development,
creating investment-friendly environment and tourism promotion, among
