Help desk for workers to be set up at Nepali embassies abroad

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb 12: The government has decided to set up a labourer help desk at the Nepali embassies abroad in order for providing assistance particularly to the Nepali migrant workers.

Following Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda's special instruction and initiative in the beginning of February, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security made the decision to keep the help desk at embassies,  according to the Prime Minister's secretariat.

Ek Narayan Aryal, secretary of the Ministry, said, "The PM directed us to keep a help desk for workers abroad at our embassies so as to deal with the problems of the Nepali workers there. Then we did our homework and concluded to keep the help desk."

Secretary Aryal expressed hope that the help desk will boost professional rights, security of the Nepali workers abroad.
