Kathmandu, Feb 3 : The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) General Secretary Jagan Chapagain will be arriving here Saturday on a four-day visit to Nepal. This will be his second visit to Nepal after he assumed the post of IFRC General Secretary.
During the visit, he will take
stock of the affairs of IFRC Nepal and the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS). In
addition to this, he will meet the top political leaders to discuss the
contemporary issues.
It is said he will attend an ambulance
handover ceremony in which the IFRC is handing 30 new and 15 upgraded
ambulances to the Nepal Red Cross Society. Chapagain is also scheduled to
attend a programme to publish the IFRC ‘Global Disaster Report’.
The IFRC which is considered the
largest humanitarian network handed 10 double-cabin pick-up vehicles to NRCS in
2022.
Chapagain, with extensive
experience in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement , has been
in the IFRC key post since February 1, 2020. (RSS)
