Help Nepal to meet TAC in final

Kathmandu, Jan 15 : Help Nepal fixed the title clash with defending champion Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) in the men's category of the ongoing 7th NVA Women's and Men's Club Volleyball Championship  on Saturday.

With three Indian volleyball players under its belt, Help Nepal registered a 3-2 victory over departmental side Nepal Police Club (NPC) in the second semi-finals held at National Sports Council (NSC) Covered-Hall, Tripureshwor, Kathmandu. Both teams, Help Nepal and TAC, cruised into the title clash of the tournament remaining unbeaten at the tournament.

Help Nepal won the first set 25-21 and NPC leveled the clash 1-1 in the second set after they overcame Help Nepal by 26-24 in the second set while Help Nepal restored their lead 2-1 in the third sets as they registered a 25-17 victory over departmental side NPC. Similarly, NPC made a brilliant comeback as they leveled 2-2 in the fourth sets after they registered a 25-20 victory over Help Nepal.

Help Nepal fixed their title clash against defending champion TAC after they registered a 15-8 comfortable victory over NPC in the final sets of the second semifinals. The title clash between defending champion TAC and Help Nepal will take place on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) inched close to their dream to defend the title of 7th NVA Women's and Men's Club Volleyball Championship after registering a 3-0 comfortable victory over Armed Police Force (APF) in the straight set of the men's semifinals. Defending champion Army men beat APF by 25-23, 25-17 and 25-17 to secure their place at the title clash. Man Bahadur Shrestha of TAC was declared the Player of the match for his outstanding performance against APF in the last four of 

the championship.

New Diamond fix title clash with NPC

Pratibha Mali guided the New Diamond Youth Sports Club as they fixed the final date with Nepal Police Club (NPC) at 7th NVA Women's and Men's Club Volleyball Championship on Saturday. held at National Sports Council (NSC) Covered-Hall, Tripureshwor, Kathmandu. TAC shattered New Diamond title defending journey after they beat New Diamond by 17-25 in the first set but they made a heroic comeback from 1-0 behind to beat TAC by 3-1 after winning all three sets by 25-19, 25-16 and 25-18 in the final set. Mali of New Diamond was declared the Player of the match for her outstanding performance against departmental side TAC in the semifinals.

Earlier,  NPC secured their spot at the title clash after registering a 3-2 tough victory over Armed Police Force (APF) in the first semi-finals in the women's section. NPC took a 1-0 lead in the first set, but APF leveled the sets 1-1 in the second sets after they thrashed NPC by 25-17 and they took 2-1 lead in the third set after beating NPC by 25-21.

Similarly, NPC made a comeback in the semifinals after they leveled the sets 2-2 in the fourth sets after registering a 25-21 victory over APF. NPC beat APF in a dramatic semifinals after they stunned APF by 15-7 in the final sets of the first semifinals.

Usha Bhandari of NPC was declared the Player of the match for her remarkable performance against APF in the departmental derby.

The title clash between New Diamond and NPC will be held on Sunday.
