blog

By Our Correspondent,Waling, Dec. 25: Dolraj Parajuli of Waling Municipality 12 has started making pickles from amala and tea from wood apple (bel) fruit. Parajuli has started a new enterprise by making good use of amala and bel, which are being wasted at the local level.

Remembering his hard work done in Saudi Arabia for almost one and a half years, Parajuli said, "Even if half of the hard work done abroad is done in the village, it is possible to earn a good income." Stating that the same money will not come from abroad easily, he said that we can earn good income from the locally available fruits that are being wasted in our village. “Amala and bel are easily available in the village, I have made good use of them,” he said.

According to Parajuli, he has started to plant amala and bel in the garden recently. He said, "I will do this work commercially. I will not go abroad again. So, I will make a plan to plant amala and bel saplings everywhere."

Parajuli, who is considered to be a hard worker in the village, has also operated a garage in the village by working in another garage. He said that while working in the garage during the day, he worked in the morning and evening making pickles and tea.

Customers reach his home to buy organic pickles and tea produced using locally available amala and bel. He has also been selling amala pickle and bel tea at local fairs and festivals.

Parajuli said that there is a plan for commercial production of such goods which can be used as medicines for various diseases. He said that the stakeholders should support the youth who want to do something in their own country.

“People are suffering because of monkey in the village, if we plant amala and bel and use them properly, then the agricultural land that is being wasted in the village will be used properly and we will get good income,” said Bishwo Jung Gurung, Ward Chairman of Walling Municipality 12.
