Adolescent gets free treatment in Kalikot

By Prem Raj Simkhada, Kalikot, Dec.12: The treatment fees of one child who cannot afford treatment expenses incurred by the 20-day stay in the hospital run by the Palanta Rural Municipality of Kalikot district have been waived. 

Rs. 40,000 treatment expenses of 13-year-old Ashok Shahi, son of Ghate Shahi, from Palanta Rural Municipality -6, have been waived by the hospital. 

After the news titled, “Trapped in hospital for being unable to pay off treatment fee”, was published in Gorkhapatra, expenses were waived in the direction of the local bodies. 

Dr Bijay Kumar Mahato, Director of the hospital, said that treatment expenses were nullified in the direction of the chairperson Bishnu Bahadur Rokaya. 

Belpura Shahi, the mother of the sick boy, said that this step has put a ease in the family.
