By Liladhar Oli, Ghorahi, Mar.25: The fire that broke out at the Shangri-La Plywood Factory in Khaira, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-9, has yet to be fully controlled.

Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Lamsal said that the fire is yet to be completely under control despite persistent efforts for more than 32 hours to douse the fire.

According to him, 90 per cent of fire is under control.

He said that it is being delayed to douse fire despite persistent efforts as there are flammable materials stored in the industry along with the chopped wood. They are making it difficult to take fire under control completely.

He said, "The security team is working relentlessly around the clock to control fire."

Tractors are being used to carry water along with eight fire engines from Dang, Kapilvastu, Banke, and Bardiya districts to control the fire that broke out at 2 PM on Sunday.

The factory had been producing plywood and exporting it to various districts of Nepal as well as India. It employed more than 900 employees.
