President stresses unity in Nepal's cultural diversity

By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Nov. 28: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all Nepalis on the occasion of Vivah Panchami. 

Issuing a press statement on Sunday, President Bhandari said that the festival would provide inspiration to all Nepalis to strengthen the unity in the social and cultural diversity. It read that the festival would protect and promote the original culture and help build a civilized and cultured society. 

The marriage ceremony organised for a week in Janakpurdham on the occasion of Vivah Panchami is the central attraction of this festival. There is a tradition of performing dances along with traditional musical instruments and observing Janti and Doli during this festival.
