Kathmandu,
Nov 27 : An Urban Water
Supply and Sanitation Sector wise Project is to be implemented in Chandragiri
Municipality. The project aims to seek a long-term solution to the water supply
and sewerage problem in the municipality and it will be kicked off from the
Municipality's ward number 12 and 14.
The project
costing over one billion rupees will be later expanded to ward number 11, 13
and 15, and finally to cover all the remaining wards.
The Ministry of
Water Supply, Department of Water Supply and Sewerage, has approved the project
to be undertaken with financial support of the Asian Development Bank.
"The
Municipality has been communicated of the approval of the project by the
Ministry and with this we have pursued policy-related topics for the speedy
implementation of this project," said Ghanashyam Giri, the Mayor.
According to
him, the Municipality has already held all-party consultation in the initial
phase and the users groups would be formed within a month and they would forward
the survey and design works.
Project's social
security expert Samir Dhakal shared that this project is included among the
model projects in South Asia. He added that the survey and design works of the
project would be concluded within the next one year. It will go into full
implementation after that in line with international quality standards. (RSS)
