Bunga fair today

Kathmandu, Oct. 15: Bunga Mahotsav, a cultural festival, will be  organised at the small Newa town of Bungamati in Lalitpur on Saturday. 

The  event will be jointly organised by Echoes in the Valley and Parya Sampada with the objective of reviving Nepal’s intangible heritages and disappearing sounds by showcasing local music, art and  everyday rituals. 

Live music will be performed while local foods and woodcarving skills will be showcased. A  heritage walk, live needlework and workshops are other attractions of the fair, said the organisers.     

Bands like Kutumba, Night, Kanta dAb dAb, Panchamrit, Raithane and Kalpakunja will be preforming  at the fair. 

The event will start at 9:00 am and conclude at 7:00 pm. A free transportation service from Jawalakhel to Bungamati will be available from 10:00 am 

to 7: 30 pm.
