Festivals important for national unity, fraternity: Speaker Sapkota

Kathmandu, Oct. 2: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has pointed out festivals of the country as being important for national unity, fraternity and mutual relations among Nepali people while connecting individuals, families and society. 

In a message of greetings he extended on the occasion of Dashain, Tihar, Chhath and Nepal Sambat 1143 festivals, he said our culture, traditions and festivals represent country's originality and diversity. He also offered his best wishes to all Nepali people at home and abroad on the occasion of the festivals. 

"Originality and diversity are main features of Nepali people. Festivals including Dashain, Tihar and Chhath have become important for social interactivity and increasing harmony in the society."

He appealed to all Nepali people to celebrate the festivals in view of dengue risks. 

Also, he urged all voters to help organise the November 20 House of Representatives and Province Assembly polls in a free, impartial and peaceful manner.
