Chitwan, Sept 7 : The 13th annual general meeting and Fourth General Assembly of Nepal Community Library Association have elected a new leadership under the chairmanship of Santosh Rawal.
Similarly, Bharat Khadka is the
senior vice-president and Rajendra Prasad Pandeya is the general secretary of
the newly elected executive committee. The executive committee was elected
unanimously.
Among the province, vice-presidents
include Bhim Kumari Rawat (Province 1), Bharat Giri (Madhes province) Sujata
Bista (Bagmati province), Lila Bhandari (Gandaki province), Chetkanta Bhattarai
(Lumbini province) and Gyanu Raj Bindi (Sudurpaschim province).
Balkrishna Thapaliya has been
elected the secretary and Sagar Mishra the treasurer while the elected members
are Lavahari Dahal, Khadga Narayan Chaudhary, Ganga Dhakal, Madhav Bhandari,
Govinda Sharma, Pratikshya Chaudhary, and Pushparaj Joshi.
The Association connects 50
community and public libraries in different districts of Nepal. It is a
nongovernmental autonomous organization, formed in 2005 with the aim of
federating and strengthening community libraries scattered across the
country.
NCLA provides a common platform for the promotion and advocacy of community libraries in Nepal. It also works to
strengthen networking and coordination between community libraries as well as
other organizations. (RSS)
