By Our Correspondent Ghorahi, Aug. 20: Altogether 42 buildings of health institutions have been constructed in four districts of the then Rapti zone in the last five years.
These buildings were constructed under the integrated health infrastructure programme.
After the construction of the buildings, it has been easier to provide efficient and quality health services to the public.
The programme was implemented in Dang, Pyuthan, Rolpa and East Rukum districts from the fiscal year 2017/18.
According to Sanjeev Kumar Shah, information officer of the programme, 12 buildings have been constructed in Dang, 13 in Pyuthan, 14 in Rolpa and four in East Rukum. They were built at a cost of over Rs. 1.2 billion.
According to him, Rs.27, 534,950 has been spent for the construction of 12 health buildings, including health office and staff quarters in Dang. Similarly, Rs. 97,275,000 has been spent for the construction of four buildings in East Rukum and Rs. 571,973,605 has been spent to construct 14 buildings in Rolpa, he added. Shah further informed that 13 health buildings were constructed in Pyuthan spending Rs. 269,033,471.
The programme was launched keeping the health sector in priority.
