Married, divorce, mother, pregnant can participate in Miss Universe Nepal

Kathmandu, Aug 16 : National Director of Miss Universe Nepal Nagma Shrestha has said that married, divorcees, mothers,s or pregnant women can participate for the coveted crown of Miss Universe from next year. 

 The new rule was announced at a press conference held in the capital on Sunday to introduce 20 semi-finalists of Miss Universe Nepal.

Director Shrestha said, “One of the reasons I’ve always preferred Miss Universe is because of the inclusivity and this latest change will provide  a golden opportunity for brave, bold, and beautiful Nepali women.” Out of the top 20, the winner of the Social Impact Leader category will enter the final 10. It is said that those who get the most votes will be given the People's Choice Award and the winner of the award will also enter the top 10.

 The Miss Universe Nepal will get an opportunity to represent Nepal in the 71st Miss Universe.

 This year, the winner will be receiving an electric scooter along with a cash prize of Rs. 1 million.

 Similarly, the winner of Miss Eco Infinity subtitle will also receive an electric scooter.

 Other sub-title winners like Miss Lifestyle, Miss Fabulous, Miss Fierce, Miss ICT, Miss Free and  Fearless, and People's Choice Award winners will get a direct placement as top 10 finalists, informed the organizer. 

 This year's contestants included Bipana Adhikari, Dikshya Khati, Aakriti Manandhar, Samana Karki, Priyanshu Mahat, Shristi Hada,  Jasmine Khadka,  Monica Chaudhary,  Shristi Tamang,  Anu Anmol Chhetri, Monalisa Parajuli, Reeju Khadka, Dr. Ayushnova Dhungana Chhetri, Renuka Chaudhary, Sophiya Bhujel, Sefina Joshi,  Rajani Mishra, Rupsi Shrestha, Prativa Maharjan and Ashma have been selected as the top 20 semifinalists.
