Biratnagar, Aug 14 : The Biratnagar Metropolitan City has come up with a plan to establish a separate planning commission for the holistic development of the city.
For this, the metropolis called and
organized a meeting of experts and related personalities and sought suggestions
on a temporary, mid-term, and long-term plan. The attending experts suggested an
increment of the city's income by bringing all under the tax system.
The metropolis would work for the
entire development of the city, said the metropolis mayor Nagesh Koirala.
"The metropolis has come up with a plan to develop the city by making a
development model. We are at work for this," he said.
In the preliminary phase, the suggestion was being collected to make a periodic plan for the development
project, he said. The metropolis would ease delivery of service through the use
of technology at maximum, said the metropolis deputy mayor Shilpa Niraula
Karki.
In the first phase, intellectuals
and representatives from various social organizations took part in the
meeting.
