EC asks parties to register for polls by Aug 16

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 5: The Election Commission has urged the political parties for registering at the EC for the purpose of the election of the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly (PA).

The EC has notified the political parties to get registered within August 16 while the registration will start on August 7 and the office for registration will be open even on public holidays.

The EC has expedited the preparations for holding the HoR and PA poll as decided by the government to hold on November 20.

EC assistant spokesperson Surya Prasad Aryal said that the notice for registration of the political parties has been issued as per Article 271 of the Constitution.
