By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 2: US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has landed in Taiwan this evening.

According to BBC,  the US top democrat reached there on a US government plane.

The visit took place despite China's protest. China has been urging the US to stop the trip saying that the trip violates the One China Policy the US has adopted and infringes on the Chinese sovereignty.

This is a serious violation of the one-China principle and the provisions of the three China-U.S. joint communiqués, said China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its statement on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, People's Liberation Army has announced that it will conduct three-day live fire drills starting from tomorrow, Wednesday.

Russia has termed Pelosi's visit 'purely provocative' and said it would stand with China in this regard.
