By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 28: The US Embassy organized a one-day workshop with business and government leaders to promote sustainable economic development in Nepal today.
At the workshop, the US Embassy demonstrated support for increased US business investment and engagement in Nepal. Entrepreneurs, executives, business association representatives, development agencies, think tanks, and government officials along with all key stakeholders participated in the workshop.
US Chargé d'Affaires Manny P. Micaller Jr., Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Maha Prasad Adhikari, and Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Arjun Pokharel, provided opening remarks.
“In Nepal, as in many other countries, the private sector is the key change agent in economic development – creating jobs and contributing the most to national income.” said Chargé d'Affaires Manny P. Micaller Jr. “Beyond that, the private sector leads by example, demonstrating values such as responsibility and inclusion, and making a positive impact that lifts all communities in Nepal,”
The event also highlighted the new and rapidly growing American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal), which is working to support the U.S.-Nepal trade and investment relationship.
