APF seizes illegal goods worth Rs. 20.5 million in six months

Nepalgunj, July 28 : The Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal has seized illegal goods worth around 20.5 million in a period of six months.

According to Armed Police Force No. 30 Battalion, Bageshwari Banke, illegal goods worth Rs. 20.5 million were seized after the security checks were tightened.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Janak Basnet, Chief of Armed Police Force No. 30 Battalion, said that the armed police seized the illegal goods from February 13 to July 16, 2022. 

He said that illegal goods were seized from different checkpoints on a daily basis and the seized goods include clothes, groceries, livestock and fish, meat, gold and silver, motor parts, hardware materials, illegal wood, white poppy seeds, and various types of drugs.

SP Basnet said that apart from these seized goods, six people involved in drug trafficking were arrested with brown sugar and other drugs and handed over to District Police Office Banke for necessary action.
