President, PM greet new presidents of India, Sri Lanka

Kathmandu, July 23: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has congratulated newly elected President of India Droupadi Murmu.

Taking to Twitter, President Bhandari congratulated President Murmu and expressed desires to elevate the relationship between Nepal and India.

"I want to heartily congratulate Your Excellency Droupadi Murmu for being elected as the 15th President of our friendly neighbour Republic of India. 

I am fully hopeful that cooperation between the two countries will reach a newer height during your tenure," tweeted President Bhandari.

Similarly, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba also congratulated Murmu for being elected as the President of India.

"On behalf of the government and people of Nepal, I would like to extend warmest congratulations to Droupadi Murmu on being elected as the 15th President of India. I am confident that the excellent bilateral relations between Nepal and India will reach a newer height in the days to come," tweeted PM Deuba.

Likewise, PM Deuba also congratulated Ranil Wickremesinghe for being elected as the President of Sri Lanka.

"On behalf of the government and the people of Nepal, I extend heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Ranil Wickremesinghe on being elected as the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka," the PM tweeted.
