10 shortlisted for Film Development Board chair

By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, July 19: The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has shortlisted 10 candidates for the chairmanship of the Film Development Board (FDB). 

Releasing a notice on Monday, the Ministry revealed the names of the candidates which includes Arun Kumar Pradhan of Sunsari, Deepak Shrestha of Kathmandu, Naresh Kumar Paudyal of Lalitpur, Nirmal Raj Dhakal of Kathmandu, Bhuwan KC of Kathmandu, Manish Pandit of Kathmandu, Samjhana Upreti Rauniar of Kathmandu, Suchitra Shrestha of Ilam, Sushil Kumar Pokharel of Kathmandu and Sushma Karki of Kathmandu. 

As per the Ministry, the selected individuals are now required to present a professional action plan after which, the date, time and place for further processing will be set.

Film director Dayaram Dahal was the chairman of the Development Board. After his two-year tenure concluded on June 4, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology called for applications for the next chair.

Actor Bhuwan KC had also submitted his application for the chairmanship earlier along with Dahal but Dahal bagged the post.
