Nepali Congress should be proud of leadership of PM Deuba: Minister Karki

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 13: Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Minister for Communication and Information Technology said that everyone should be proud of the leadership of Prime Minister (PM), Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Addressing a Central Working Committee meeting of the ruling Nepali Congress at the party's Sanepa-based central office today,  Minister Karki, also, Nepali Congress (NC) central member, said, “ We should be proud of our party’s chairperson. Even after having few seats, we only not are the government, but have also succeeded in becoming the biggest party in the country through local elections. The presence of Congress is there in every part of the government.”

 He stressed that there is a need to continue a coalition government to give stability to the government saying that even though this faces hindrances, solving the problem and moving forward is only the option.

He said, “There used to be news about corruption every other week in past, now good governance has been established in the country. The results at the local level election have changed the mentality of Nepali because of people’s confidence on PM and party chair Deuba.”

He assured that Nepal is not in a position to be like Sri Lanka, in a press brief at the premises of BP Smriti Bhawan at the Central Office.

“Passing the bill of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) has opened many prospects on foreign aid and financial grants”, he stressed.

He pointed out price hikes as the effect of the war between Russia and Ukraine which is observed even in developed countries like Japan and the United States is seen. The new government formed by people's opinions will lead the nation towards prosperity.

“The role played by media has helped in generating awareness in people.”
