Kathmandu, June 27: Some 200 thousand students aspiring to pursue +2 study have
visited the 4-day Kantipur HISSAN Education Fair.
The fair held
at the Brikutimandap Exhibition Hall concluded today.
Chairman of
HISSAN Ramesh Silwal informed that around 200 thousand students waiting for the result
of the secondary education examination (SEE) along with other aspirants of
higher education visited the education fair.
He said that
the main motive of the fair was to provide a single platform for students and
parents to see the variety of choices of college/institutions to pursue +2
study.
74 colleges had
displayed the scope of higher education in a variety of faculties including
science, management, humanities and law during the fair.
According to
the Director of Golden Gate International College Samjhana Kharel, most of the
visiting students were interested in studying science followed by management
and humanity.
She said that
teachers and counsellors have participated in counselling the aspirants. Most of
the visitors were the students who were waiting for the SEE result.
Principal of
ST. Xavier's International College Depen Dahal said that the college is providing
education in science, management, humanity, and law along with the A-level course of the University of Cambridge.
He informed that
200 students per day visited the fair willing to know about the A-level course.
Assistant
Campus Chief of Southwestern State College Hari Singh KC said that the presence of
college aspirants remains good in the number. He added that students seem to be in
confusion about the selection of subjects, selection of college and figuring out
their long-term goals.
He viewed that counselling is necessary right from the school level. The guardian and students should have a clear idea of the selection of subject and college in the future.
