Farmers seize fertiliser in Dhading

blog

By Our Correspondent Dhading, June 19: At a time when farmers all over the country are struggling to get fertiliser for paddy plantation season, farmers have seized around 500 sacks of chemical fertiliser brought in two trucks at Dharke, Dhunibeshi Municipality–6.

The fertiliser had allegedly been brought from India by evading customs. That is why the Department of Revenue Investigation had seized it and was transporting it by the two trucks when around 500 farmers stopped them and looted the fertiliser.  Locals suspect that the businessmen who had brought the fertiliser into the country illegally themselves incited the already desperate farmers to seize the sacks.
