Public transport fares decreased

Kathmandu, June 3: The Department of Transport Management has reduced the fare of inter-province public transportation.

As the price of fuel has come down, the department has adjusted the fare of public transport according to the automated system.

If the price of fuel increases or decreases by more than five per cent, the fare will be adjusted every time.

Price of the petrol, diesel and kerosene had declined by Rs 10 per litre, or 6.13 per cent, effective from 12 am midnight on Thursday. Accordingly, the fare of passenger vehicles has decreased by two per cent.

Fare of the heavy vehicles plying on hilly roads decreased by 2.6 per cent and in Terai, roads decreased by 2.9 per cent.
