Balendra, Sunita set to win KMC Mayor, Deputy-mayor

Kathmandu, May 26: The counting of votes in the City hall at Exhibition Road of Kathmandu is in the final stage.

According to Chief Electoral Officer Raju Kumar Khatiwada, out of a total of 191,186 votes, more than 183,679 votes have been counted so far.

Now only 7,507 votes remain to be counted.

So far, independent candidate Balendra Sah has received 59,149 votes. Sirjana Singh of Nepali Congress got 37,542 votes and Keshav Sthapit of CPN (UML) got 37,218 votes.

UML's candidate for KMC Deputy-mayor Sunita Dangal has received 66,878 votes. Rameshwar Shrestha of the CPN (Unified Socialist) has received 23,031 votes.
