Pedestrian dies in road accident

Gulmi, March 29: A pedestrian has died after being hit by a jeep in Chandrakot Rural Municipality. The deceased has been identified as Tulsi Thapa, 55, a resident of the Municipality, according Information Officer of the District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ganga Bahadur Saru.

The jeep (Lu. 1 Ja. 1834) heading from Chandrakot to Shantipur hit Thapa while he was crossing the road at a place called Ripaha on Saturday evening. Thapa, who was injured in the accident, was sent to Lumbini Medical College Pravas, Palpa after receiving general treatment at a local health facility.

Police have stated that Thapa died last night during treatment. Police have taken the jeep driver Jeevan Faudar into custody for necessary action.(RSS)
