By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 20: The five-year term of
the newly elected people's representatives of the local levels has started from
today, Friday, given the expiry of the term on Thursday of those elected in May
2017.
Newly elected local level members have started assuming
their offices from today as the Election Commission has said that the term of
those elected in 2017 ended on May 19, 2022.
Before
assuming the office, the members of the local levels received their certificate
of being elected from the returning officer and then took oath from the concerned
authority- district judge for the chiefs of local levels, chief of the local
level for the deputy, ward chairs and members.
A total of 35,221 members- chiefs, Ward chairs, members
included- are getting elected from the local level election held on May 13.
