Jumla, March 29: The seventh edition of the Jumla-Rara Ultra Marathon is to be held on coming 9 May 2026.
Organized by the Karnali Sports Club Jumla, the marathon will start from Khalanga Bazaar, the district headquarters of Jumla, according to the club's president Saroj Shahi. The competition is being organized with the aim of promoting the natural beauty and adventure sports tourism of the Karnali region.
Employees, industrialists, businesspersons and interested individuals can participate in a five-kilometer race under the competition. A registration fee of Rs 500 has been fixed for this. The registration fee for children under the age of 18 has been made free for the ten-kilometer race.
The fee for the 51-kilometer race of the competition is Rs 3,000 for local runners and Rs 5,000 for other runners. Shahi shared that the first place in the 5-kilometer race will be awarded Rs 5,000, the second place will receive Rs 3,000 and the third place Rs 2,000.
In addition, the first place in the 10-kilometer race will be awarded Rs 10,000, the second place will receive Rs 7,000 and the third place will win Rs 5,000.
The first place in the 51-kilometer race will be awarded Rs 100,000, the second place will receive Rs 75,000, the third place Rs 50,000, and the fourth and fifth place Rs 20,000 each.
The club has stated that names must be registered by May 3 to participate in the competition. (RSS)
