CPN (Maoist Center) candidates elecetd in Thwang Chair, Vice-Chair

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 15: Candidates of the CPN (Maoist Center) have come out victorious in the local level election in Thawang Rural Municipality, known as the epicenter of the Maoist armed rebellion.

Maoist Center candidate for the Chairman of the RM, Rhishikeshav Budhamagar 'Sabin', secured 2,122 votes to get elected while his nearest rival Darjit Rokamagar, an independent candidate supported by the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML), got 1505 votes.

Likewise, Maoist Center candidate for vice-chair Sharmila Budhamagar secured 2,122 votes to get elected to the post while her nearest rival Ray Bahadur Pun, an independent candidate backed by the Nepali Congress, and CPN (UML), got 1487 votes.

The official announcement of the election result is yet to be made.

Meanwhile, out of the election result of 30 wards of 10 local levels of the Rolpa district, Maoist Center candidates have been elected in 20 wards, NC candidates in 4 and UML candidates in 4 and an independent candidate in 1.

There are 72 wards in the district.
