Qatari princess Asma Al Thani scales Mt. Kanchenjunga
Kathmandu, May 10: Qatari Princess Sheikha Asma Al Thani has climbed the world's third-highest peak, Kanchenjunga.
She became the first Arab woman to climb Mount Kanchenjunga on May 8. Posting her status on Instagram, Shekha Ashma said that she was proud to be the first Arab woman to reach the top of Kanchenjunga (8,586 m).
"Climbing the mountain was not easy and it still gives me courage," she wrote in her post. She is heading to the base camp this month with the goal of climbing Mt. Everest. She had earlier tried to climb Mt. Everest, the highest peak called Sagarmatha in Nepal.
