Postage stamps should include endangered arts, culture: Minister Gurung
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has expressed the view that traditional art and culture should be preserved through postal stamps. Inaugurating the week-long postage stamp exhibition organized today by the Department of Postal Services on the occasion of National Democracy Day, Minister Gurung said that the department should search for historical themes and publish stamps if necessary.

Regular import of petroleum products via pipelines begins
Regular import of petroleum products via pipelines from India's Motihari to Amlekhgunj in Bara has started. Nepal Oil Corporation's Madhes Regional Office Amlekhgunj has said that the import of petroleum products, including petrol and kerosene, has started from the pipeline after the completion of the work of the Intra-national Petroleum Pipeline Expansion.

Nepali students in India's Bhubaneswar forced to vacate hostel after B-Tech girl's death
A little after a third-year BTech student of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), a private engineering college, died allegedly by suicide in her hostel, all enrolled students from Nepal have been reportedly sent back to their homes. The deceased was identified as Prakriti Lamsal from Nepal. "A Nepali student studying in the third year of B-Tech committed suicide in the hostel yesterday. It is suspected that the student was in a love affair with another student studying at KIIT. It is suspected that the student may have committed suicide due to some reason," PTI quoted KIIT.
Gas cylinder leakage causes fire in Halesi, losses exceed Rs 70 mln
Properties worth over Rs 70.3 million were lost in a fire caused by a cooking gas cylinder leak in Khotang's Halesi, a renowned religious site. The fire, which started in the kitchen of Padam Shumsher Rai's home in Mahadevsthan of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-7 last night, later destroyed four houses, three hotels, one hardware shop, and a microfinance office, according to Acting Chief District Officer Hiradhan Rai.

Three dozen bridges to be added on East-West highway
Bridge construction has been started at the east part of the East-West highway's Kamala-Dhalkebar-Pathalaiya road project. Under the upgradation from Kamala of Dhanusha to Bagmati of Sarlahi 34 new bridges will be constructed across 74.75 Kilometers.

A third-year B-Tech student of a private engineering college here died allegedly by suicide in her hostel, police said on Monday. The deceased was identified as Prakriti Lamsal from Nepal. She was a B-Tech third-year student of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), the Registrar said.

Hospital decides to discharge DPM Paudel
