Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu and Acting Ambassador, Dr. Rakesh Pandey, paid a courtesy call on Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav on Wednesday. During the meeting held at the Vice President’s Office in Lainchaur, the two exchanged greetings and discussed various aspects of bilateral relations, cooperation and other issues of mutual interest. Parties blamed for excluding women, Dalits in nominations
In Dhankuta, a total of 18 candidates, representing political parties and independents, have filed nominations for the House of Representatives election. Dhankuta has only one constituency. Candidates from 14 political parties and four independent candidates have registered their nominations. The parties include the CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, Nepali Communist Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Mongol National Organisation, among others.
Glocal After School five skills heroes awards
Five veterans have been honoured with the Skill Hero Award by Glocal After School for their contributions to advancing skills in Nepal. The award is an annual initiative that acknowledges outstanding individuals across four categories: tourism and hospitality, science and technology, art and culture, and entrepreneurship. “The award aims to recognise individuals who have demonstrated sustained commitment to skill development and promotion within their respective sectors. Nominees are evaluated by a jury of experts, with four recipients formally recognised as the heroes,” said the company in a statement. In the Tourism and Hospitality category, entrepreneur Rishab Agrawal is recognised for his role in reshaping Nepal’s premium food and hospitality sector.

Dhumba Lake lures tourists to Mustang
Last year, during the month of Magh (mid-January to mid-February), Dhumba Lake, located in Samle village of Gharpajhong Rural Municipality–5 in Mustang, had frozen over. Due to the extreme cold, even tourists entering Mustang found it very difficult to reach the lake. However, this year, up to the third week of January, tourists have been able to reach the lake with ease. The lake, which is normally expected to freeze, is now flowing gently with clear blue water, attracting visitors.
