Nepal’s export trade witnessed a remarkable growth of 89 per cent during the first three months of the current fiscal year 2025/26. According to statistics released by the Department of Customs, the country exported goods worth Rs. 72.78 billion in the first quarter, a sharp increase from Rs. 38.37 billion recorded during the same period last fiscal year. The growth was largely driven by higher exports of soybean oil, palm oil, sunflower, carpets, and tea and coffee.
The Election Commission (EC) is now reviewing the applications of six newly formed political parties. The parties are seeking registration to contest the elections to the House of Representatives slated for March 5, 2026. Election Commission Information Officer Suman Ghimire informed that the six applications were submitted after the announcement to hold fresh elections. Ten others had applied before the September 8–9 Gen-Z movement.

The move aims to increase the water flow in the river to facilitate devotees in performing rituals that warrant holy dips. According to the Committee’s Information Officer, Uddhav Nepal, it takes around 14 hours for the water released from the Dhap Dam to reach the Pashupatinath area. Water from the dam is released into the river on special occasions.
