A cultural museum has been established in Khotang by collecting 200-year-old household items. The museum established in Jalapa of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-12 has displayed more than 200 types of 200-year-old household items. Dan Bahdur Rai, the ward chairperson, said that the meeting hall of the erstwhile Jalapa Village Development Committee building has been turned into a cultural museum. Ward Chair Rai said that the museum has been established with the aim of collecting and preserving the historical materials used by the ancestors during their lifetime and informing the new generation about the ancient tools.
North Humla has experienced severe cold following heavy snowfall since Monday night. It was the heaviest snowfall of the season. Chief District Officer Binod Kumar Pokhrel said, "Over a foot of snow has accumulated on the ground, despite clear skies on Monday. The sudden snowfall during the night transformed the region into a winter wonderland. The temperature plummeted to minus 14 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, affecting life." Heavy snowfall in North Humla has left locals immobilised, impeding the movement of both humans and animals. Frozen lakes and streams have disrupted the flow of water. Residents are actively engaged in clearing snow from rooftops.
