Journalist Adhikary, writer Giri honoured
Senior journalist Dhruba Hari Adhikary and literary persona Govinda Giri (Prerana) were honoured amid a programme in Kathmandu on Wednesday. Journalist Adhikary was honoured with Rukmani Siwakoti Smriti Journalism Award while writer Giri was honoured with Rukmani Siwakoti Sashtra Samman at a programme organised jointly by Rukmaniraj Siwakoti Smarak Kosh and Gyangun Kanun Patishthan. Speaking at the programme, former justice of the Supreme Court Top Bahadur Singh said that Gyangun Publications has informed people about the contributions made by many personalities to the society by publishing research books on them.

Irrigation projects being implemented in Jogbuda
A canal is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 16 million to irrigate the fields of Jogbuda in the inner plains of Dadeldhura district. One canal is being constructed in Parigaun, Parshuram Municipality–5, under the Parigaun Irrigation Scheme at a cost of Rs. 12 million.

Lyricist Dr. DR Upadhyay has added 22 world records to his name. Former vice president of the Republic of Nepal Parmanand Jha presented the certificate of the 22 world records to Upadhyay at a programme organised in the capital on Monday. The records have been awarded to him by 11 different organisations.

Preventing girls and women from moving out of their homes or countries will not stop the perpetrators from committing crimes against them. Boys and men should now start reviewing what masculinity means for them. Violence against Girls and Women (VAGW) are violations of human rights. However, such violence based on gender and vulnerability of people is happening unabated in different human civilisations.
NEA expanding transmission lines in Madhes Province
