Chopper pilot beaten up for landing in football field during match

By Our Correspondent, Syangja, Jan. 20: You have seen animals, men and women invading the pitch when the football matches are in progress, but you might have never seen a helicopter invading the pitch.

But, it happened in Waling of Syangja. A helicopter landed in  the pitch when the first half of the Waling Gold Cup was in progress, Thursday. 

As the helicopter occupied some part of the pitch, the angry fans could not tolerate it, and thrashed the pilot while the players deserted the field fearing an accident.   

Captain Ramesh Dangol of Prabhu Helicopter was beaten up in Waling Municipality-8 of Syangja district for invading the pitch in the middle of the match. 

Dangol was beaten up by the angry local youth after the helicopter that he had flown to Waling from Pokhara landed on the ground when the first half of the Waling Gold Cup was in progress.

After  beating, Dangol’s nose and mouth bled. 

Binod Gaire, Khim Bahadur Thapa, Shushil Giri, and Shushil Thapa of Waling-9 had brought the helicopter by reserving it at Rs. 40,000.

Captain Dangol said that Gaire forced him to land the helicopter while Dangol was saying that the game was going on.

When the helicopter landed all of a sudden, the players escaped, but the angry fans ran towards the chopper and beat up the pilot.  

CDO Ganga Bahadur Chhetri said that the District Administration Office informed the Pokhara International Airport to take action against the helicopter that landed on the playground without seeking permission. 

Chhetri said that an action would also be taken against the youth who chartered the helicopter and forced the pilot to land it on the football ground.
