By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 11: Minister for Information and Communication Dr. Bikram Timilsina has assured film fraternity of institutionalizing changes as aspired by them.
Addressing a programme held in honour of 'Elephants
in the Fog', the film awarded in the Cannes Film Festival 2026, by Nepal Tourism Board and Film Development Board
today, Minister Dr. Timilsina made it clear that the government was taking
necessary initiatives for development, strengthening and institutional reform
of the cinema sector.
He viewed that the achievement made by Nepali film in Cannes is invaluable and a matter of pride even for the country.

On the occasion, the Minister called on the film fraternity for active participation in making the bill related to cinema pragmatic and up to the time so that a good law is formulated for long term development of the film sector.
He assured of
incorporating suggestions provided by the stakeholders in the bill which is
presently under discussion in a parliamentary committee.
