Kathmandu, June 11: Lawmakers have raised their voices on various contemporary issues.
During the urgent hour of today's meeting of the House of Representatives, Bhumika Subba drew the attention of the government not to remove the private housings of the people constructed along Mechi highway.
Subba urged the government not to destroy the houses to protect them from becoming unemployed as government's such move would make them homeless and affect their hotel business.
"The locals are terrorized from the notice of the Department of Roads. The decision of destroying the houses of locals constructed along Mechi highway should be withdrawn," opined Subba.
Similarly, Nita Ghatani protested the discrimination upon Dalit in Kathmandu while Gyan Bahadur Shahi demanded to investigate into irregularities pointed out by the report of Auditor General.
Likewise, Yashoda Kumari Baral stressed the need of immediately carrying out repair and maintenance of different roads along Karnali highway for resumption of vehicular movement as roads along highway have been obstructed at different places. (RSS)
