Wagle honoured for contribution to consolidate democracy

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 11: Town of Hempstead, New York, honoured Geja Sharma Wagle on the occasion of the Asian American Heritage Month Celebration.

He became one of the eight honorees representing eight Asian countries (China, India, Nepal, Korea, Turkey, and the Philippines), who were recognized for their outstanding contributions to their respective country’s respective fields. 

Wagle was awarded by Town Supervisor John Ferretti and Executive Director Zahid Syed. He was honored for his contribution on consolidation of democracy.    

He is a prominent writer on democracy, human right, foreign policy and military affairs. 

Inspired from the honor, author Wagle in his social media post(X) stated that he is further inspired to enhance Nepal-US bilateral relations for democratic, liberal and prosperous Nepal.
