Manma (Kalikot), June 11: The Karnali Corridor, which had been blocked following landslides caused by torrential rains on Tuesday and Wednesday, was opened for one-way traffic from this morning.
Heavy rainfall triggered landslides in different areas of the corridor along the Kalikot section, causing vehicular disruption. The road along the Khulalu village in Naraharinath Rural Municipality-8 in Kalikot to Laiphu in Bajura district was largely affected in the disaster. The District Administration Office, Kalikot shared that the Surkhet–Humla road section of the corridor from Khulalu and Laiphu was cleared to resume vehicular movement. However, Assistant Chief District Officer and Information Officer Janak Sharma has cautioned riders and travellers as the risks of falling rocks from the steep slopes above the road were still high.(RSS)
